BenQ Zowie Celeritas II keyboard for e-sport review

What do you expect when you think of an e-sports or any pro-gaming keyboard ? Well when I received this package from BenQ, I knew there was a gaming keyboard inside and I was expecting a gaming keyboard with funky design, RGB lighting and and so on. However, BenQ decides to go simple with the BenQ Zowie Celeritas II, Let’s see how it works.

The Celeritas II comes with documentation such as the service information and a user guide. Other items include an active PS/2 adapter, and an acrylic cover for the keyboard.

BenQ decides to keep celeritas very simple and you won’t find any fancy design, instead you get a simple gaming keyboard which is focused on it’s functionality and performance.

Celeritas II looks like a traditional rectangular standard keyboard with full set of keys. The keys are having red lighting all around that can be controlled via the Function + F7 or F8 for brightness increase or decrease, respectively. Except for the Num Lock and Caps Lock keys, which turn quite bluish when pressed. The BenQ ZOWIE Celeritas II uses a fairly standard ISO layout, which means that the enter key occupies two rows and is almost 3 units (keycaps) wide.

There are no macro keys. This keyboard is plug-and-play so you don’t need any software.

Similar to most BenQ Zowie products, the Celeritas II is designed for e-sports and the focus on functionality rather than aesthetic appeal.

Well Mostly e-sports players usually remove unwanted switches from the keyboard for better reachability and since that is the major market for Celeritas II, BenQ has give that feature as well. You can remove all of the keys easily.

Performance-wise, the Celeritas II is really impressive. It is well functional without focusing on unwanted gimmicks. The smooth matte finish gives that comfort-ability while typing or playing games. used this keyboard for both gaming and work purposes and it suited both roles. Being a mechanical keyboard, you always expect the loud clicking noises, which was surprisingly quiet on the BenQ Zowie Celeritas II, making it ideal for office use as well.

Verdict :

If you are looking for a light to carry around your e-sports games and the keyboard which is quite enough and you would want to use it at the office for work purpose then Celeritas II is the right choice for you
